The tenth week again delivered, with a huge upset for the Buffalo Bills demonstrating the 'any given Sunday' saying that attracts so many fans into the NFL
That result could have created opportunities for the Patriots to creep back into a top spot they used to occupy, with a schedule that gives them an edge over their eight and two rivals
Over in the NFC the Seahawks and Rams had perfect results to arrange a monster clash next week, while our top performer is chasing records as well as the MVP award
Analysis - Just a Bad Day for Buffalo?
Was it just an emotional letdown from beating the Chiefs last week or a deeper issue? This remains the question for the Bills to address
The Bills had secured seven victories in a consecutive games against Miami but were second best from the beginning as the Miami team emerged as 30-13 winners in an eye-opening result - and performance
MVP quarterback Josh Allen only got the team's initial first down in the third quarter and first points in the final quarter - admittedly Miami had ten days to prepare but it was nonetheless a massive egg produced by one of the league's best offenses
Dolphins quarterback Tua threw two touchdowns but rusher Achane was the game-changing factor, with 225 total yards and two scores
Bottling up the league's best running game was crucial too, with Cook and teammates recording just 86 yards, their lowest of the year and slightly more than fifty percent their 161.5-yard average
Then there were the three crucial turnovers, and the two from Allen specifically. An pass caught by defense in the end zone resulting in a nine minute possession produced nothing, and his fourth-quarter dropped ball that Miami converted to a touchdown just later
It was typical 'previous Bills teams' as they shot themselves in the foot, getting into a hole on defense and Allen attempting to overcompensate to rescue his squad out of it - not the composed, controlled, well-balanced Bills we've seen this season
Miami have served up a bit of everything this season so the jury's out on whether this is the start of something, but for the Bills they'll require an immediate bounce-back in a difficult matchup against the Buccaneers in week 11 as the New England are quietly moving into a nice lead at the summit of the AFC East
In Focus - New England See Path to Surprise Top Seed
Speaking of the New England, they're one of three different 8-2 squads in the league, all American Football Conference sides, but are they the best?
One could find flaws in New England, the Broncos and the Colts really for dominating the lesser sides, with only five of their combined twenty-four wins coming against opponents with a positive record - and one example was the Indianapolis defeating the Denver
Denver defeated the reigning champion Eagles in Philadelphia and are masters of the final quarter while Indianapolis can rely on Taylor, but the New England adding Sunday's victory in Tampa Bay to their primtime win in Orchard Park appears to be a declaration
Their pair of losses occurred in new head coach Mike Vrabel's initial three games, with seven consecutive victories, similar to Denver, from that point - but defeating Baker Mayfield after the Bucs had a bye to prepare was significant
Maye's Most Valuable Player credentials continue to be discussed, and he certainly deserves point for bravery after absorbing some hard tackles in Tampa Bay but persevering to guide his team to success
The defense is reliable and rookie running back Henderson exploded on Sunday with 147 yards and two exhilerating touchdowns of 55 and 69 yards - becoming just the fifth runner to break 22 miles per hour this season on his first score
Although you can debate who 'the best' is statistically, the Patriots should be favorites to end with the top record due to their remaining opponents - which includes just a single matchup against a winning team, albeit a huge one against Buffalo
Visiting the Ravens is challenging too, but the Broncos have it more difficult in the AFC West division with the Kansas City to face two times, the Chargers (who might also compete for first place but encounter the same problem) and additionally the Green Bay on the fixture list
The Indianapolis also face the Kansas City, and have the Seattle, 49ers and two games with the five and four Jacksonville to face. There's a considerable distance to travel but the door is open for a shock number one position in the AFC
Coming Up - Rams & Seahawks Prepare for Next Week Clash
Two teams with solid claims to be better than all of the three eight and two sides are NFC West rivals the Seattle and Rams, who both put up forty points to go to 7-2 ahead of next week's Hollywood blockbuster meeting between the two in Los Angeles
Both have won four in a row, have signal callers in Matthew Stafford and Sam Darnold performing at an high standard (although Darnold had turnover issues on game day) with excellent pass catchers, and defensive units giving up fewer than twenty points a game
Each could easily be undefeated as well - especially the Rams as their pair of losses came in overtime against the San Francisco and then that agonising loss in Philly when they had a potentially winning kick with the last kick deflected and returned by the Philadelphia for a touchdown
Seattle were also defeated to the 49ers, with a last-minute score in week one, before falling to the last kick of the contest against the Tampa Bay - so they're truly among the top teams in the NFL
The next matchup on Sunday could be the best of the year to date
Player of the Week - Taylor
Taylor could be on for a record season after his remarkable performance in Berlin - running for 244 yards, scoring three touchdowns and adding an additional 42 {receiving yards
