Dominant Sabalenka Secures Back-to-Back WTA Top Player Accolades.
World number one Aryna Sabalenka has been selected the Women's Tennis Association top performer of the year for a second consecutive season.
The 27-year-old won four tournament victories – the highest tally on the circuit – including retaining the US Open in September versus Amanda Anisimova to secure her fourth career Grand Slam singles championship.
A Season of High Performance
Throughout the year, Sabalenka reached a tour-best nine championship matches, with losses coming to Madison Keys in the Australian Open final in January and Coco Gauff in the French Open final.
The Belarusian also won the Brisbane International early in the season, the Miami Open in March, and the Madrid Open in May. She remained the entire year as the world number one, finishing 2025 atop the rankings for a second straight year.
This past summer, she became the first athlete to exceed 12,000 WTA ranking points since Serena Williams did so nearly a decade ago.
Record-Breaking Numbers
Sabalenka concluded the competitive year with a sixty-three to twelve win-loss record, and picked up a record £11m in earnings.
She earned nearly 80% of the votes submitted by international tennis media.
Later this month, she is set to play 2022 Wimbledon runner-up Nick Kyrgios in a Battle of the Sexes-style exhibition match with the aim of "elevate women's tennis to a higher level".
