Mohamed Salah Offers Apology to Teammates, Reveals Curtis Jones
Jones has disclosed that Mohamed Salah said sorry to the group of players following the fallout from his recent interview.
The Fallout
Salah was left out from a European match subsequent to voicing frustrations and suggesting his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “His apology was clear and was like: ‘If my words hurt anyone, I'm sorry.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to reveal on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Team Unity
He emphasized that the dressing room atmosphere was unchanged. “He was his usual self, he had a big smile on his face and we all treated him normally,” the midfielder explained.
Jones also noted that a player's desire to start is less of an issue. “It's clear there are specific approaches you can express yourself,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just not start, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
On-Field Response
Liverpool's form have stayed unbeaten in the period after the situation. He feels the forward's comments were never meant to cause disruption.
“In moments of frustration, it has consistently come from a desire to win,” he finished. “That chapter is closed and we’re uniting strongly, playing well and on a positive run.”
