Orbital Photographs Show Iran's Naval Forces and Atomic Locations Targeted by Joint US and Israeli Attacks.

A series of American and Israeli airstrikes has according to analysis destroyed or damaged at least 11 Iranian naval vessels since the weekend, new aerial photos demonstrate, with launch facilities and atomic facilities also being targeted.

Pictures of the southerly Konarak naval military port and the Bandar Abbas port facility, which sits on the strategic Hormuz Strait and houses the main command of the Iranian navy, reveal smoke billowing from several warships on recent days.

Naval Forces Sustained Substantial Damage

Included in the ships sunk was the IRINS Makran, Iran's most sizable ship which had been used as a unmanned aerial vehicle platform. Aerial imagery indicated dark plumes rising from the ship which had been moored at the Bandar Abbas base.

Intelligence evaluations suggest that no fewer than a quintet of warships at the port were "struck or destroyed". Imagery of the southern end of the harbor reveal plumes ascending from the Makran, while additional ships seem to be damaged, with one visibly ablaze.

Over at Konarak, photos reveal numerous harmed ships, with expert review pointing to damage to a half-dozen warships. Images taken on the start of the week also show that several facilities at the installation have been destroyed.

"For a long time the Tehran government has threatened international shipping," an American commander declared. "At present, there is not one Iranian ship at sea in the Arabian Gulf, Hormuz Strait or Gulf of Oman, and we will persist."

Some vessels allegedly sunk may have been concealed in aerial photos by cloud or smoke, or targeted offshore, and have not been conclusively proven. Other accounts stated that a ship from Iran was sinking off the coast of Sri Lanka's territorial waters, resulting in a rescue operation.

Missile Installations and Nuclear Facilities Hit

Eliminating Iranian missile bases and the hindering of enrichment activities were stated as further objectives of the air campaign. Satellite images also showed strikes on the southern Khorgu and northwestern Tabriz facilities, and at the Konarak base, where missile storage facilities and fortifications were targeted.

At the Choqa Balk-e drone unmanned aircraft site to the west of the city of Kermanshah, widespread destruction was identified to warehouses, bunkers and unmanned aircraft systems.

Destruction was also noted at a radar site at the Zahedan military airport in eastern parts of the country, near the border with Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Significantly, the most recent series of strikes have reportedly focused on facilities at the Natanz complex – widely believed to be at the center of Iran's enrichment efforts. A global monitoring agency said that the damaged buildings were used for entry to the site's underground enrichment facility and that "no radiological consequence" was expected.

Broader Fallout and Assessment

Military analysts suggested that the strikes appeared to have "greatly reduced" the Iran's naval capability to sustain conventional attacks using its largest warships. But, it was stressed that Iran retains the option to launch asymmetric warfare at sea through the use of drones, small submarines and its so-called "clandestine network" of oil ships.

The overall scope of the destruction caused to Iran's defense infrastructure has yet to be fully assessed, with hostilities said to be persisting. Pictures also indicates considerable damage to the main offices of the the IRGC in the city of Tehran.

A significant number of non-military structures also are reported to have been hit in the capital and throughout Iran after the fighting began. Casualty figures from inside Iran state that a high number of civilians may have been fatally injured in the bombardment.

As the situation develops, monitoring of space-based data will persist to track the evolving scope of damage.
